Power generation characteristics. Economic dispatch and methods of solution of the thermal dispatch problem. Transmission losses and loss formulas in the economic dispatch. Coordination equations. Unit commitment problem and an introduction to dynamic programming. Economic dispatching with limited energy availability. Hydrothermal coordination problem. Cost equations. Power system control and security. Differential Course Fee will be assessed
