Suggestions for instructional improvement
8. Which components of this class—such as lecture, discussion, assignments, exercises, and exams—best helped you learn? The combination of homework and lecture is the most helpful. The lecture helps firm up understanding of concepts in the previous night's homework and gives new information. The homework allows me to see if I really understand new lecture concepts.
9. What about this class could be changed to help you better learn? Having the class four days a week with homework for three of the nights can be hard to manage time-wise, but it is not overwhelming until combined with other core music classes.
10. Do you feel you learned a lot in this class? Please explain. I have learned a lot in this class. Dr. Wilson is skilled at breaking down concepts so that it is not too difficult to stay caught up with the learning.
11. Please provide any other comments about this class you would like to share. Dr. Wilson is flexible and addresses questions very readily. He takes class time to help students understand concepts and does not move on to new topics until he believes that the students have mastered the previous skills.
